GVK EMRI (GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute) is the world's largest integrated Emergency Response Services (ERS) provider, serving 40% of India's population across 10 states. As a not-for-profit professional organization operating in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode, GVK EMRI handles medical, police, and fire emergencies through the 1-0-8 Emergency service. This is a free service delivered through state-of-the-art emergency call response centers and has over 2,000 ambulances across 10 states of India: Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, and Madhya Pradesh. With the expansion of fleet and services set to spread across more states, GVK EMRI will have more than 10,000 ambulances covering over a billion population by 2011. The Chairman of GVK EMRI is Dr. GV Krishna Reddy. GVK is a well-established, diversified group of companies with interests in infrastructure (airports, roads, SEZ, power, and urban infrastructure), services (hospitality industry, life sciences – contract clinical research), and manufacturing (laminated boards and resins).
