About Grupo JAP

Founded in 1904 in Marco de Canaveses, Grupo JAP is today a reference in the automotive and mobility sector. We represent nearly 20 light vehicle brands, 15 of them distributed through the Carby dealer network. We own Matrizauto (the largest megastore for semi-new and used vehicles in the country) and the master franchise for SIXT (one of the world leaders in rent-a-car) in Portugal. We also operate in the retail and repair market for agricultural, industrial, and load-handling machinery. Our century-old history is driven by the strength of over 3200 employees – distributed across approximately 50 companies in about 80 locations – and has been marked by sustained evolution, focused on continuous improvement of services provided and the satisfaction of our clients and employees. Simultaneously, we are a growing force in the light and heavy vehicle market in Africa (Angola, Mozambique, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania), in the latter with the official representation of the MAN truck brand, providing repair and assembly services for these vehicles.
