About Grupo Cataratas

Grupo Cataratas has been operating since 1998 in the management of ecotourism services. The first opportunity arose when IBAMA launched the first tender for tourist service provision in Iguaçu National Park, leading a group of entrepreneurs from Paraná to form Cataratas do Iguaçu S.A. From then on, the company gained experience, proving extremely efficient and effective in terms of quality of service and assistance provided to the environmental agency. In 2011, this experience was crucial for securing a second business, EcoNoronha. In 2012, the Group found a set of partners in Rio de Janeiro who began working together to form Paineiras-Corcovado and AquaRio, two other concessions in which the Group is a partner. In 2014, the investment fund Advent International saw an opportunity for investment in Grupo Cataratas and became a 50% stakeholder, adding management and innovation concepts to the Group. This led to the formation of the Holding, now centered in Rio de Janeiro, responsible for the Group's corporate actions. More recently, Aquário do Pantanal and Marco das Américas have been added to Grupo Cataratas' portfolio, two more ventures aimed at promoting environmental conservation and human contact with natural spaces.
