The year 1981 marks the beginning of the Arcor Group's history in Brazil, with the acquisition of Nechar Alimentos Ltda, a small candy factory in the interior of São Paulo. With only 60 employees and three production lines, Arcor laid its foundations in the sweets market and continued to grow, offering quality products at a fair price. Chocolates were launched in 1995 with the Tortuguita line. New brands, lines, and products followed, and the arrival of Butter Toffees candies in 1996 consolidated our position in the national market. In 1999, national chocolate production began with the inauguration of the Bragança Paulista plant, one of the most modern and a model in its segment. The national market deserved even more. In 2001, Arcor expanded its portfolio and business by acquiring candy brands already known to Brazilian consumers such as Kid’s, Poosh, Amor, Pirapito, and 7 Belo. What was already good got even better: in 2004, the Arcor Group and Danone joined forces in the biscuit divisions of Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. The result? Arcor Brasil became one of the most important brands in the country, integrating two new factories in Campinas (SP) and Contagem (MG), two thousand new employees, and incorporating a broad portfolio of brands such as Aymoré, Break’UP, Danix, and Triunfo. In recent years, the company has invested more than US$40 million in building a new factory in Recife (PE), expanding the capacity of its lines, in new production technologies, in quality standards and programs, research and development of products, innovation, marketing, and in its employees. And this story continues to be written every day, every time someone consumes one of the products that carry the taste of Arcor's success.
