About Goodwill Industries of Gr. Cleveland & East Central Ohio

Founded in Boston, MA in 1902 by Reverend Edgar J Helms, Goodwill has been providing opportunities for men and women across America and around the world ever since. Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc. has been serving the local community for over 100 years as an independent Goodwill affiliate. While most people recognize Goodwill as a retail thrift chain, that is only a portion of Goodwill's mission. Goodwill is a non-profit, social service agency dedicated to improving the lives of all people by providing skill-building programs and services needed to help remove common barriers to good jobs and independence. The stores provide revenue to help fund these programs and serve as job training sites. We support 28 outreach programs in our local community. Some of these programs include job training and development programs, parenting support and education classes, a rape crisis and counseling center, medical care, and mental health care.
