About Ghana Insurance University College

The Ghana Insurance University College was established in 2006 by four major stakeholders of the Ghanaian Insurance Industry: the National Insurance Commission (NIC), the Ghana Insurance Brokers Association (GIBA), the Ghana Insurance Association (GIA), and the Insurance Institute of Ghana (IIG). Its purpose is to provide training and education for all levels of insurance professionals who will champion the advancement of ethical insurance practices and professional competence in the industry. Commercial operations began in 2007, and the first six years of operations demonstrated a growing level of activity and financially sustainable operations. The University is currently the key training and education institution for all levels of insurance professionals in Ghana's insurance industry.
