About Gemeente Maassluis

Maassluis is a unique city located on the Nieuwe Waterweg. The city developed in the 18th century as an important fishing port. A considerable fishing fleet emerged, and the growing trade, supply companies, and later industry made the city grow and flourish. Today, Maassluis has grown into a modern city with over 36,000 inhabitants, where the old city center with its beautiful harbor basin forms a beautiful contrast with the renewed residential areas. The versatility of art, culture, recreation, sports, and business ensure an appealing and modern city, where you can always continue to be amazed and entertained.
