Gemeente Lelystad

About Gemeente Lelystad

Lelystad, capital of the province of Flevoland, has existed since 1967. With 80,000 inhabitants and the ambition to grow to 100,000 inhabitants plus the associated 35,000 to 40,000 jobs, Lelystad is always focused on progress. Enthusiastic and motivated employees of Gemeente Lelystad ensure daily that the future plans on our agenda can actually be realized. Its location and ever-improving accessibility via road (A6), rail (Flevo and Hanze lines), water (Amsterdam-Lemmer waterway), and air (Lelystad Airport), along with the presence of Nationaal Park Nieuwland, including Oostvaardersplassen and Marker Wadden, make Lelystad the Capital of New Nature and a city that is constantly evolving.
