About FUNDACIÓ ASPROS

Fundació Aspros was established in 1962 as an association and became a Foundation in January 2005. The organization has always been committed to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families. Its work for intellectual disability has been expanded over the years to include other disabilities such as physical, sensory, and mental and organic illnesses, among others. Fundació Aspros is a benchmark for promoting awareness actions regarding psychic disabilities and, above all, a pioneering entity in carrying out programs aimed at fostering the social and labor integration of this group. Currently, Aspros serves 600 people with disabilities. They are mostly people with severe, medium, mild, or borderline intellectual disabilities, of diverse etiologies: Down syndrome, encephalopathies, metabolic disorders, Rh incompatibilities, among others. Also other disabilities (physical with severe motor impairments, sensory, and chronic mental illnesses). At the same time, the organization has a total of 430 professionals on staff, with different profiles (psychiatrists, psychologists, dietitians, social workers, educators, nurses, speech therapists, physiotherapists, monitors, as well as a multidisciplinary medical team).
