Created on February 21, 1937, by Professor José Silveira, the José Silveira Foundation (FJS) has been expanding its work through sustainable growth, based on strategic planning and a focus on the best results. As a non-profit philanthropic institution, the José Silveira Foundation primarily serves the most underserved population with quality services. This is demonstrated by the benchmark work of our units in areas such as tuberculosis control, neonatal care, humanized childbirth, breast cancer treatment, and rehabilitation of patients with neuropsychomotor disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism. More than 2.5 million services are provided annually. The FJS also promotes preventive, health promotion, and socio-environmental actions aimed at communities in Salvador and municipalities in the interior of Bahia, contributing to the improvement of social and health indicators in the state.
