The Fundação de Ensino Superior do Vale do Sapucaí (FUVS) has been a benchmark in Education and Health in Southern Minas Gerais for over five decades. FUVS is a private, philanthropic, non-profit institution, maintaining the Universidade do Vale do Sapucaí (Univás); the Complexo Hospitalar Samuel Libânio (CHSL); the Colégio Técnico João Paulo II (CJPII) and Vale do Sapucaí (Anglo Pouso Alegre). FUVS is located in Pouso Alegre, in the Vale do Rio Sapucaí region, in Southern Minas Gerais. It is a Higher Education institution created by Law nº 3.227, of November 25, 1964 and established by Decree nº 8.660, of September 3, 1965, being administratively and financially autonomous. Since the beginning, FUVS directors have dedicated themselves to caring for the educational process of the region by offering higher education courses. Over time, new courses were created mainly to meet the demand of the Complexo Hospitalar Samuel Libânio (CHSL), which belongs to the institution and serves as a teaching base for Univás's health courses.
