The founder of the clinic, Dr. Friedrich Husemann, was an early anthroposophical doctor. In direct contact with Dr. Rudolf Steiner, he was able to learn and practice the principles and content of anthroposophically extended medicine and anthropology. Since the founding year (1930) of the Friedrich-Husemann-Klinik (FHK), this integrative therapy model of modern psychiatry and psychotherapy, supplemented by anthroposophical medicine, has been continued in our institution. The FHK is the oldest anthroposophical hospital for psychiatry and psychotherapy in Europe. Scientifically based psychiatric and psychotherapeutic medicine forms the basis of our treatment. We expand this foundation through the integrative application of anthroposophical medicine. Anthroposophical Medicine, founded by Dr. Rudolf Steiner in collaboration with physician Dr. Ita Wegman, is the method of knowledge and practice that has been applied for decades. A central aspect of this is the anthroposophical view of humanity, in which the unity of body, soul, and spiritual individuality constitutes the human being.
