The Franziskus Foundation's Düsseldorf clinics – which include the Augusta Hospital, Elbroich Hospital, St. Vinzenz Hospital, Marien Hospital Düsseldorf, and the West German Diabetes and Health Center – offer highly specialized healthcare for Düsseldorf and the region. With around 3,000 employees, approximately 50 specialist clinics and competence centers, and over 150,000 patients treated annually on an outpatient and inpatient basis, the Franziskus Clinics Düsseldorf are among the largest healthcare providers in the greater Düsseldorf area. Since July 2025, we have been part of the St. Franziskus Foundation Münster, Rhineland Region. The St. Franziskus Foundation Münster is one of the largest denominational hospital groups in Germany and is responsible for 18 hospitals and ten facilities for people with disabilities and seniors in North Rhine-Westphalia and Bremen. It also holds stakes in outpatient rehabilitation centers, nursing services, and hospices, among others. More than 720,000 people are treated annually in the Franziskus Foundation's facilities, with around 1,000 people cared for in long-term care facilities. Around 19,000 employees care for the sick, disabled, and elderly. The board consists of Dr. rer. pol. Nils Brüggemann (Chairman) and Dr. med. Ulrich Knopp.
