The Oostvaarderskliniek is a forensic psychiatric center (FPC) in Almere that implements the TBS measure (psychiatric treatment under compulsion). Focused on the safety of society, the TBS clinic treats patients with demonstrably risky behavior, both clinically and outpatient. The treatment aims to enable the patient to function independently in society again. In addition to patients with a TBS measure, the Oostvaarderskliniek also focuses on patients with other legal titles. The Oostvaarderskliniek has the forensic addiction clinic (FVK) Basalt. This offers treatment to (young) adults who have come into contact with justice and who have addiction, psychological complaints and/or psychiatric disorders, and often social problems as well. Through intensive support, they are given the opportunity to regain control of their lives in a protected environment. The Oostvaarderskliniek also has a forensic FACT team, the ForFACT team De Oostvaarders. An outpatient, multidisciplinary team of expert caregivers that provides care, guidance, and treatment to forensic psychiatric patients. With this facility, the Oostvaarderskliniek meets the need for outpatient forensic care in the Flevoland region.
