A delicious homemade recipe was the starting point for Forno de Minas' success. In 1990, Maria Dalva Couto Mendonça, better known as Dona Dalva, began selling her cheese breads in a small store in the capital of Minas Gerais. The following year, Forno de Minas was moved to an area of 350 m², in Contagem, metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. In 1995, the company inaugurated the current factory, located on a 24,000 square meter lot, with 10,000 square meters of built area. In 1999, the controlling interest was sold to an American company. Ten years later, the founders reacquired Forno de Minas. Currently, in addition to the national market, the company exports cheese breads to the United States, Canada, Portugal, and Uruguay.
