Ferngas - With energy reliably there for you! The Ferngas Group, based in Schwaig near Nuremberg, sees itself as an innovative and reliable service provider for gas logistics. It owns high-pressure gas pipelines with a total length of over 3,000 km. In addition, it provides technical services for its customers, among others. As part of the current national environmental and economic strategy, the topic of hydrogen has become a central energy policy issue. The aim is, among other things, to make the gas supply climate-neutral by 2045. The course is set early for this, which is why Ferngas is actively shaping this topic today. The Ferngas Group consists of Ferngas Netzgesellschaft mbH and its subsidiaries. Ferngas Netzgesellschaft mbH is a subsidiary of Deutsche Gastransport Zwischenholding GmbH. The company indirectly belongs to the Versicherungskammer Group. The Ferngas Group operates a distribution network with a length of around 2,900 km in Bavaria and Thuringia, as well as in Hesse, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt. In Thuringia, we operate a transmission network with a length of around 214 km. Ferngas Netzgesellschaft mbH is a certified "Independent Transmission System Operator" according to §§ 4a, 4b, 10-10e EnWG and is organized as a so-called combined network operator (according to § 6d EnWG). The entire Ferngas Group is supported by Ferngas Service & Management GmbH & Co. KG, which provides commercial and technical services for all companies within the group. Ferngas Service & Management GmbH & Co. KG is divided into three business divisions: commercial department, infrastructure, and network economy.
