Fakultní nemocnice Bulovka (FNB) is one of the five largest hospitals in Prague. It was commissioned in 1931. Within the complex, specialized medical teams are available to patients for outpatient and inpatient care, who can connect and provide multidisciplinary healthcare assistance if needed. FNB operates 25 departments, 7 clinics, 2 institutes, and 12 outpatient clinics for the administration of systemic anti-tumor treatment. Three pharmacies are available to the public within its complex. Nearly 2,800 employees work here, including 552 doctors, 900 nurses, and 29 pharmacists. 1,156,000 patients are treated outpatient annually, and 31,000 patients are hospitalized (data for 2021). FNB provides 824 standard beds, 102 beds connected to intensive care units, and 54 beds for follow-up care. The most emergency medical service vehicles come to FNB. In 2021, 22,800 were admitted, which is the highest number of all hospitals in the Czech Republic. The hospital provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care, ensures transfusion services, processes biological material, and performs a wide range of laboratory tests. The Anti-Alcoholic Detention Center, the National Tuberculosis Surveillance Unit, and the First Aid Medical Service for children and adults are located here. The hospital operates a peat spa complex in the Central Bohemian village of Lázně Toušeň. FNB operates a Vaccination Center where a wide range of vaccines are administered, including the COVID-19 vaccine. The first Birthing Center in the Czech Republic handles physiological births attended solely by midwives. Together with General University Hospital and Thomayer University Hospital, Bulovka is part of the largest Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Czech Republic. It also operates a Comprehensive Center for the Treatment of Musculoskeletal Tumors, which is one of the three official centers of its kind established at the initiative of the Czech Society for Orthopaedics and Traumatology on the recommendation of the Czech Oncology Society.
