Faktor X stands for particularly climate- and resource-friendly construction. More precisely, it denotes a holistic approach to optimizing proven concepts of energy-saving construction and renovation with regard to the entire life cycle of a building and expanding them to include material resource protection. In practice, this is achieved, for example, through the use of regional, renewable, and/or recycled building materials and intelligently planned architecture that is designed to be particularly durable and low-maintenance. This opens up large, previously untapped savings potentials. The goal is to increase the resource efficiency of a building by a factor of X. For example, by double (factor 2) or by four times (factor 4). This means that resource consumption is reduced to half or a quarter.
