Ciências Médicas - MG (CMMG) advances with the strategy of combining its experience, accumulated over more than five decades of teaching and research, with the innovative stance required by the current context of education and technology in the health field. The second oldest in Minas Gerais, it is recognized among the most prestigious in the country, an excellence that extends to the also pioneering undergraduate courses in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy in the State, in addition to those related to postgraduate studies and distance learning. The institution carries out a series of community-based programs in various areas of medical care, providing local support for the Unified Health System (SUS) in the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region (RMBH). Furthermore, its community health and Family Health Program (PSF) related services reach needy populations in rural areas of Minas Gerais cities, through the Rural/Metropolitan Internship Program. CMMG prides itself on educating and training doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists for the future. In their successive generations, professionals trained at the School of Medicine have acted as professors and scientists, as well as doctors and surgeons in well-regarded hospitals in Brazil and abroad.
