In May 1992, Wiggo Erichsen opened the first Europris store in Stavanger. The store, named Støperigata, is today one of 278 Europris stores. In 2000, "wholesale entrepreneur" Terje Høili bought into Europris and took us on a fantastic journey where our brand name truly became known to the public. The founders later sold their shares in the company but still follow our activities with great interest. In June 2015, Europris was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, and a new and exciting phase in our low-price adventure has begun. Today, we are one of the country's most well-known chains. Over 90% of all Norwegians say they know of Europris. Our stores are located across our long country, and we are growing with approximately 10 new stores each year. About 30% of our stores are owned by franchisees, and the remaining 70% are company-owned stores. We are also a cornerstone business in Fredrikstad, where our headquarters and large central warehouse are located. Approximately 150 employees work at our warehouse every day, handling orders, and receiving and dispatching goods to our stores. At our headquarters, there are approximately 135 employees whose task is to make daily life in the stores easier and more efficient. Nearly 86% of our goods come from our own wholesale. We focus on buying as many goods as possible directly from the manufacturer, in large quantities, and often together with international partners. This allows us to maintain low prices.
