About EspaceSuisse

EspaceSuisse is the Swiss spatial planning association. We inform, advise, and support cantons, cities, municipalities, and private companies in planning, construction, and legal matters. EspaceSuisse connects professionals from spatial and transport planning, architecture, and jurisprudence. Our vision is sustainable spatial development. In spatial planning and environmental issues, EspaceSuisse is the central platform for cantons, cities, and municipalities, as well as companies and law firms with a focus on spatial planning. The association provides its members with services in consulting, information, further training, and networking. EspaceSuisse was founded in 1943 as the Swiss Association for Spatial Planning. Since then, it has connected stakeholders in spatial planning to promote coordinated spatial development that efficiently utilizes the resource of land. Stakeholders include federal, cantonal, and municipal authorities, as well as companies, economic and environmental organizations, municipal and professional associations, and universities and colleges. On June 29, 2018, the association was officially renamed EspaceSuisse. The new name better illustrates its core area: spatial planning in the space (Espace) of Switzerland (Suisse).
