About EPSM Caen

EPSM Caen is a public mental health facility, a member of the Normandy Centre Hospital Group. Its mission is to care for the majority of the population in the Calvados department. Individuals who come to EPSM benefit from diverse care. The facility offers services and resources for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and social reintegration for adults, adolescents, and children. EPSM also provides services in numerous health institutions (liaison psychiatry and emergencies) and medico-social institutions (Retirement Homes...). It also actively participates in the innovative and coordinated care of adolescents within the Maison des Adolescents du Calvados, of which it is one of two founders. It also manages medico-social activities that specifically care for individuals with psychological disabilities, within the framework of the Maison d’Accueil Spécialisée de Boulon and the SAMSAH “L’Envol”. It is also involved in the care of patients with psychoactive substance dependence through a care, support, and prevention center for addiction (CSAPA) and in the field of risk reduction for drug users, through its reception and risk reduction support center for drug users (CAARUD). To carry out these activities, it relies on just over 60 doctors and approximately 1,170 non-medical staff. EPSM asserts its intention to give a greater role to outpatient care and to establish, alongside sectoral psychiatry, a more specialized territorial offering: gerontopsychiatry, psychosocial rehabilitation unit, care for autistic adults in crisis, specialized consultations.
