ENGEMASA emerged from the modernization ideals of the 1970s, when engineers from the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) joined forces in 1976 to found a company specializing in the casting of stainless steels and special alloys, aiming to substitute imports. From the start of its operations in 1978, ENGEMASA overcame the challenges imposed upon it, nationalizing parts that were previously imported with performance equal to or better than external competitors. The challenges of the 1980s, particularly from PETROBRAS, led ENGEMASA into the market for forged bars in special alloys and metallic needles used for reinforcing refractory concrete. In the 1990s, through rigorous relationships with important national universities and research laboratories, ENGEMASA entered the petrochemical market supplying static castings in high nickel and chromium alloys for high-temperature applications. Responding to requests from PQU (Petroquímica União), it developed technology for the manufacturing of Centrifugal Tubes and began assembling petrochemical columns with the strictest metallurgical controls for micro-alloy additions, ensuring their performance in high-temperature applications. There were many achievements: Machining (1990), Division, Petrochemical & Centrifugal Casting (1992), ISO 9001 Certification, Foundry of the Year for the 3rd time by ABIMAQ (1998). PETROBRAS and national petrochemical industries now rely on a genuinely national supplier with the capability to meet the growing challenges of this important sector of the National Economy. Through continuous exchange with the best Brazilian universities and research institutes, ENGEMASA has complete metallurgical control of its products and is ready to overcome the challenges of the new millennium. The products are certified by SGS, TUV, and PETROBRAS, in accordance with ISO 9001. MISSION To provide the best solution in cast, forged, and centrifugal products, raw or machined, in steel or special alloys, safely and profitably, with social and environmental responsibility. VISION To be a global reference in quality, technology, and innovation in the supply of cast, forged, and centrifugal products, raw or machined, in steel or special alloys. VALUES - Commitment; - Respect; - Ethics; - Teamwork; - Transparency.
