In recent years, the fight against digital illiteracy has become a national cause comparable to the fight against illiteracy, as the dematerialization of services accelerates and impacts all aspects of daily life: renewing identity documents, searching for housing, accessing rights... often, all of this is no longer possible without the internet. For people in social precarity who are not equipped or lack the necessary skills, this is a double penalty: already marginalized, they are cut off from most essential services. Their support towards greater digital autonomy is our daily fight. Founded in 2013 and a member of the Emmaüs movement, the Emmaüs Connect association has restored the power to act to more than 135,000 people in social and digital difficulty thanks to a team of about a hundred employees supported by more than 1500 volunteers in 19 territories of action. We act in 3 ways: by providing connection means and equipment at solidarity prices, by supporting people in difficulty with basic uses, and by training social action professionals in digital inclusion practices.
