About EL NUEVO MUNDO
We are a family tradition store founded in 1877 as El Cajón de El Nuevo Mundo in the historic center of Mexico City. In addition to fabrics, we sold notions and ribbons, women's clothing, as well as exclusive perfumes from Europe. Years passed, the Company grew and consolidated in the Federal District, and also opened its doors in Monterrey. In 1949, we decided to expand into the West, in the Pearl of Guadalajara, where the store was initially called Almacenes Colón, a name that was changed in 1963 to El Nuevo Mundo. Our objectives are clear: to provide the best service to our clients by offering the best brands and the experience of over a century of knowing them, of being part of the families of Guadalajara.
