The EJF (Evangelisches Jugend- und Fürsorgewerk) is a nationally active, Christian-influenced social welfare organization. It provides help for people of all ages and faiths who need special personal and social support. The EJF develops and operates outpatient and inpatient services for people with disabilities, for children, adolescents and families, for homeless and refugee people, and for seniors. The EJF also includes daycare centers, counseling and educational services, and integration companies. Founded in 1894, the EJF is now a company with tradition and cross-border reach. It is active in the German states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Thuringia, Bavaria, Lower Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as in Poland and the Czech Republic. In total, approximately 20,000 people are cared for permanently or temporarily in EJF facilities by more than 5,000 employees.
