EEW Energy from Waste GmbH (EEW) is one of Europe's leading companies in the thermal utilization of waste and sewage sludge. EEW Energy from Waste already makes an important contribution to climate and resource protection and is thus an indispensable part of the circular economy. At the company group's current 17 locations, we can energetically utilize around 5 million tons of waste per year. More than 1,400 employees take responsibility for using the energy from waste, reducing waste volume, safely and harmlessly eliminating hazards emanating from waste, and recycling scrap metals and composite materials. We also efficiently use the energy contained in waste, generating process steam for industrial plants, district heating for residential areas, and environmentally friendly electricity. As part of our sustainability strategy, we have set ourselves ambitious goals to achieve climate neutrality. In addition to CO2 reduction, a key measure will be CO2 capture in our plants. The captured CO2 is to be partially stored underground or used as a valuable raw material for chemical products in a climate-neutral economy of the future.
