Essar has formed Essar Energy Transition (EET) which is creating the UK’s leading energy transition hub in North West England. EET is investing US$3.6 billion in delivering low carbon energy transition solutions over the next five years, of which US$2.4 billion will be invested across its site in the UK, between Liverpool and Manchester, and US$1.2 billion in India. EET is redefining energy and includes the following portfolio of growing brands: EET Fuels, the company’s refining and marketing business in the North West of England which is investing to be the UK’s first low carbon process refinery; EET Hydrogen, which is the most advanced, large scale, blue hydrogen production plant, developing 1.35 gigawatts (GW) of low carbon hydrogen for the UK market, with follow-on capacity set to reach 4GW; EET Hydrogen Power, plans to be the UK’s first large scale, hydrogen-ready power plant supporting industrial decarbonisation in the North West of England. It is integral to the decarbonisation of EET Fuels’ operations, and it will be supplied with low carbon hydrogen from EET Hydrogen. EET Retail, plans to develop a significant portfolio of Essar-branded fuel retail outlets by 2030 as part of its vision to become the UK’s ‘retailer of choice to consumers’; Stanlow Terminals, the UK’s largest independent bulk liquid storage facility which is developing enabling storage and pipeline infrastructure including a hydrogen transport hub, green fuels terminal and CO2 terminal
