The National Electronic Certification Company, E-certchile, was created in 2002 by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (CCS) with the support of CORFO. After five years of operation, it is the national market leader in electronic certification and invoicing. E-certchile constantly incorporates new products and services, based on digital signature technology (CRYPTOGRAPHY), which provide higher levels of security and trust for conducting e-commerce operations. E-cetchile fulfills two fundamental roles in the field of electronic certification: issuing and administering digital certificates; and constituting a Registration entity validating certificate requests. E-CERTCHILE, the National Electronic Certification Entity of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, has obtained the license that allows it to issue Advanced Digital Signature Certificates, as stated in Exempt Resolution No. 317, of August 14, 2003, from the Undersecretariat of Economy, Development and Reconstruction, after a process of accreditation of its procedures. The process validated before the Accrediting Entity the necessary facilities, systems, computer programs, and human resources to grant certificates in the terms established by this law and its regulations, allowing the registration of E-CERTCHILE as a Certification Service Provider, in accordance with Law No. 19.799 on electronic documents and signatures.
