About Dwight School

Founded in 1872, Dwight School is an internationally renowned independent school (nursery-grade 12) educating the next generation of global leaders — one student at a time. Personalizing the experience through the academically vigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, Dwight is dedicated to igniting the spark of genius in every child. Pioneering IB World School Dwight is the first school in the Americas to offer the comprehensive International Baccalaureate curriculum for students ages 3-19. The IB educates students to be caring, principled, globally minded critical thinkers dedicated to making our world a better place. The IB is the "gold standard" in pre-university preparation; Dwight graduates attend the finest colleges and universities worldwide. A world-class Dwight education rests on three pillars: personalized learning, community, and global vision: Personalized Learning No two students are alike — and no two student journeys at Dwight are the same; each one is customized based on student talents, interests, and passions. Dwight’s student-teacher ratio is among the lowest for NYC independent schools. Community Dwight is a warm, diverse community in which each student is empowered to make a difference. Students participate in a wide range of local and global service programs within and beyond the classroom, including some non-profits they launch themselves. Global Vision Dwight is the flagship campus of The Dwight Schools, a global network of leading IB World Schools in London, Seoul, Shanghai, Dubai, Hanoi and online. Dwight students participate in cross-campus exchange programs, curricular and creative collaborations, online programs, international athletic competitions, and global leadership conferences.
