Founded in 1887 in an old farmhouse in Volmerdingsen, Wittekindshof is now a large and supra-regional social enterprise. The work has always focused on and with people with disabilities. Around 5,000 children, adolescents, and adults with and without disabilities use the services of the Diakonische Stiftung Wittekindshof annually – whether in East Westphalia, Münsterland, or the Ruhr area. Wittekindshof offers a diverse and highly specialized range of services for people from their first year of life to old age. Around 2,400 people use Wittekindshof's residential services. They live either in their own apartment, in Wittekindshof residential buildings, or shared apartments.
