We are committed to combating exclusion and discrimination. The Diakoniewerk Duisburg operates various facilities in four specialist areas. Over 550 employees care for approximately 8,000-9,000 clients annually at over 40 locations. In the Employment & Training division, people with no prospects in the job market are trained, qualified, and employed, for example, in our Diakonie department stores (KadeDi), in gardening and landscaping, or in the carpentry workshop. They are supported by counseling and coaching services. With the offerings of the Children, Youth & Family division, young people are fostered and challenged in their development into independent personalities. Key areas include youth welfare, vocational support for youth, migration and flight, school social work, and the "pro kids" streetwork and contact café. The Counseling & Living and Participation & Self-Determination divisions encompass integration assistance for people with addiction and mental health issues, and homeless assistance.
