With over 1,000 affiliated institutions, about three-quarters of all banks in Germany use dwpbank's process and system services. The dwpbank serves over 5.3 million securities accounts across all sectors for savings banks, cooperative banks, private banks, and commercial banks. With over 200,000 managed users – investment advisors and employees in credit institutions – dwpbank's central settlement platform WP3 is one of the largest IT applications in the German banking landscape. Business Model: As an aggregator of large transaction volumes from all three sectors of the German financial system, dwpbank achieves cost advantages through economies of scale and economies of scope in products, services, and know-how. It further relieves its customers by taking over operational risks. Through its product and service offerings, dwpbank enables synergies for each affiliated credit institution to a large extent.
