German development cooperation, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, assists the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in achieving its objectives in the fields of international cooperation for sustainable development. Within the framework of global challenges, international cooperation focuses on socio-ecological change, renewable energies, climate protection and adaptation measures, as well as biodiversity conservation. In 2022, GIZ ConoSur was established in Argentina, Chile, and Peru, where we leverage synergies in topics and portfolios through regionalization, seeking innovation and efficiency. We also promote economic and social development together with the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC). Through technical advice to local counterparts, GIZ contributes to implementing agreements adopted in various areas such as: Environment and climate, Sustainable cities, Renewable energies, Governability, Sustainable mining, Triangular cooperation, among others. GIZ's registered offices are located in Bonn and Eschborn (Germany).
