Most residential design starts with assumptions. Design Science starts with facts. We specialise in residential renovations and extensions across Queensland — the hardest kind of design work, because you're never starting with a blank page. You're working with an existing structure, its hidden framing, its constraints and its history. What sets us apart is how we work. Using survey-grade Trimble and Leica 3D laser scanning, we measure and understand what's already there to millimetre accuracy before we draw a single line. Then we construct the building digitally — fully resolved in 3D in our BIM environment — before anything reaches site. Clashes found, details solved, unknowns eliminated, before they become expensive surprises on a construction site. It's the approach high-tech commercial construction has used for years. We bring it to real-world residential projects, where it matters most and where almost nobody else does it. Design Science is led by a licensed builder and licensed building designer — a rare combination that means our designs are grounded in how buildings actually go together, not just how they look on paper.
