Democrata started modestly. Production began in 1983, in the city of Franca, São Paulo - where the company is still headquartered - with less than 10 pairs. However, the entrepreneur's goal, at the time 30 years old, was always to achieve something greater. It is no wonder that the two factories it maintains in Ceará produce 12,000 pairs per day, 30% of which are for export. There are 2100 employees that the entrepreneur is keen to maintain with an increasingly qualified work standard. This is why the brand's models have become a benchmark, and have won over many consumers around the world in addition to Brazilians. Constant research into the most modern technologies and trends in the footwear sector has meant that, since 2006, Democrata has been exporting to more than 60 countries, including countries in Latin America, the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
