DCMR Milieudienst Rijnmond operates in the largest, most intriguing, and diverse work area in the Netherlands: the Rijnmond region. With a global port, large-scale (petrochemical) industry, and a major city in the region, this area presents all imaginable environmental challenges. DCMR has a broad range of tasks and functions. We issue permits, inspect companies, monitor environmental quality, and advise municipal and provincial authorities. Smooth cooperation is naturally essential. Working at DCMR is equally challenging. Governmental agency responsible for permitting of industry, inspection, monitoring and policy in the greater Rijnmond area (Rotterdam Port). The agency is established by 16 municipalities and Rotterdam and the province of South-Holland. They have commissioned the larger part of their environmental tasks to DCMR.
