About Daniel Thwaites

When Daniel Thwaites, a farmer’s son from the Lake District, founded a small Blackburn brewery in 1807, his appetite for adventure created something amazing. Our sixth-generation business still brews lovely beers, but we’ve become a family of hotels, spas, inns and pubs in extraordinary landscapes, cities and communities. From our Lancashire roots to the Lakes, Dales, Cotswolds and South Coast, every Thwaites destination is a one-off. You’ll know you have found one by the way it makes you feel.
