Cross Creek Nursery

About Cross Creek Nursery

Since 1974, the McAuliffe family has proudly served the greater Richmond community with high-quality plant and landscape services. The original shop, Tropical Treehouse, opened in a repurposed service station in the heart of Carytown. By 1980, the growing McAuliffe family—and business—relocated to our current home at 501 Courthouse Road, where expansion has continued ever since. In 1990, we introduced our Grounds & Landscaping divisions, which have seen rapid growth under the leadership of the McAuliffe sons. In 1996, we acquired over 80 acres in Nottoway County to serve as our tree and shrub growing facility. In March 2019, Cross Creek expanded again with the purchase of Hanover Farms Nursery—one of the nation's most respected wholesale groundcover growers. Today, with over 200 associates across six branches, Cross Creek is one of the most successful and diverse horticultural enterprises in Virginia.
