The Red Cross Movement annually provides assistance to some 233 million people. A benchmark player in the field of humanitarian action, the BELGIAN RED CROSS wages a constant battle to alleviate human suffering and prevent humanitarian crises. The actions of the Red Cross are at all times guided by the fundamental Principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. The Belgian Red Cross focuses its activities on, among other things, the following areas of activity: Solidarity actions: we fight daily to improve the living conditions of people in difficulty Disaster Interventions: we work every day to prevent and alleviate the suffering of disaster victims Humanitarian Awareness: we actively promote respect for humanitarian principles, non-discrimination and tolerance Health Protection: we protect everyone's life and health, without any discrimination International Actions: Strengthening partner National Societies and specifically in Southern countries (Emergency, Development Cooperation)
