Brazil has 24 Regional Pharmacy Councils. In Santa Catarina, the CRF was created and installed in 1961. The mission of CRF/SC is to value the pharmacist as a health professional, ethics, pharmaceutical care and promote the protection of users of services and products of pharmaceutical activity. The plenary of the CRFs is composed of 12 councilors and three alternates elected by direct vote of registered pharmacists. Among the councilors, four make up the board. The term of office for the board is two years, while the term of office for the councilors is four years. Pharmacy Councils are federal public autarkies. All professional activity carried out by pharmacists in Brazil is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Pharmacy Council, based on Law 3.820. The plenary of the CFF is composed of 24 Federal Councilors with their respective alternates.
