About Crestwood Christian Childcare

Crestwood Christian Church Childcare Center is a non-profit center organized by the church in 1985. It was organized as a service project to meet the needs of early childhood education in our community. The Childcare center operates under a standing committee of the church, referred to as the Childcare Council. This council is made up of members of the church, a ministerial representative, the administration of the childcare, a parent representative of the childcare and for a portion of the meeting a staff representative. This council oversees the finances and policies for the center as well as hiring of administrative staff. Crestwood strives to meet the following goals: To develop in each child, a love for oneself and those around him/her. To develop in each child a positive self concept so that one sees oneself as a worthy individual. To provide quality care to meet the individual needs of each child by treating each child as an individual. To provide each child with opportunities for creative expression through, language, music, large and small muscle activities, art and dramatic play. To provide each child with opportunities for the development of basic learning skills. To develop in each child a curiosity for the world and an enthusiasm for learning. To provide opportunity for the child to develop and grow physically through rest, nutritionally appropriate food and a safe environment in which to learn and play. To help each child develop a satisfying social relationship with both children and adults. To encourage parents to be aware of behavior expectancies of their child’s age group. To encourage parent participation in all phases of the center.
