About Crescent Academy

Crescent Academy located in Southfield services students 3 years of age to 8th grade from in the inter-city of Detroit and suburban metropolitan areas. Crescent Academy prides itself on offering teachers professional development each month to all teachers for the enhancement and effective delivery of instruction. The academy provides support to teachers new to the field of teaching and new to Crescent Academy. Training includes familiarization of district curriculum resources, understanding student achievement data results, how to conduct a successful teacher-parent conference, designing lesson plans for effective student engagement, classroom management, and classroom operational procedures. Crescent Academy offers instruction around the 4-core academic areas of English/ Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. In addition, Music, Art, Physical Education, S.T.E.M Program, and Gifted & Talented Program. Crescent Academy believes in the whole child approach which means that academy staff assists students and their families in bettering their outcomes by creating a college bound culture that expects and teaches strong character, academic achievement, and civic engagement. Students from all cultural backgrounds and all walks of life attend Crescent Academy.
