About COSVI

La Cooperativa de Seguros de Vida de Puerto Rico, COSVI, is a purely Puerto Rican company. It was incorporated on December 11, 1959, but began operations on September 14, 1960, in response to the protection needs that cooperative leaders of that era had. COSVI was created out of the need for insurance access for cooperativists as a consequence of the creation of various types of agricultural and savings and credit cooperatives. Such was the demand for insurance and the growth that COSVI experienced in the Puerto Rican Cooperative Movement that shortly thereafter they expanded services to other non-cooperative sectors.
