Costanzo's Bakery

About Costanzo's Bakery

Baking the Best for Over 80 Years! The year was 1933 and what a remarkable year it was! An ambitious youngster of Italian descent, Angelo Costanzo worked for a bakery on Dante Place in downtown Buffalo, NY which he eventually took over. That bakery, then known as Costanzo’s Bread, had a few trucks on the road and a wholesale operation delivering Italian breads to mom and pop grocery stores. In 1950, Costanzo’s moved to its new location on East Delevan in Buffalo. The business grew steadily, particularly with 12” sub rolls which Costanzo’s had started selling to quick-serve restaurants. In 1959-60, Costanzo’s acquired two small stores just in front of the bakery and set up a walk in retail operation, selling delicious fresh breads, rolls and donuts. The space expanded to selling fresh sandwiches and coffee. Over the next 12 years, Costanzo’s enjoyed substantial success providing customers with the high quality products that remains a competitive edge today. The bakery continued to grow and evolve. In 1994, Costanzo’s opened at our current location on Innsbruck Drive in Cheektowaga, NY. Today, three shifts work at the Innsbruck Drive headquarters. Costanzo’s trucks deliver fresh rolls to local customers and a national account frozen line of rolls make their way to food service institutions and restaurants throughout the United States and Canada. The third generation of Costanzo’s, Jeff and Mike, took over the helm of the bakery business in 2000 and continue the tradition of producing the highest quality breads and rolls to fresh and frozen customers today.
