Coopavel Cooperativa Agroindustrial was founded on December 15, 1970. It currently has 26 branches located in 17 municipalities in the West and Southwest regions of Paraná and 11 industries located in its own Industrial Park. The branches receive all raw materials produced by the cooperative's 3,000 associated families and provide technical, agronomic, and veterinary assistance services. The staff numbers 3,500 professionals. The Industrial Park consists of a Swine Slaughterhouse that slaughters 1,500 animals per day; a Poultry Slaughterhouse that slaughters 150,000 birds per day; a Cattle Slaughterhouse that slaughters 200 animals per day. The Dairy Industry receives 100,000 liters of milk per day; a Feed Industry; a Soybean Crushing Unit that processes 800 tons per day; a Vegetable Byproduct Recycling Unit and a Fertilizer Industry that produces 130,000 tons per year. Coopavel's structure also includes a Seed Processing Unit that produces 300,000 bags per year; a Breeder Farm for 44 million birds per year; an Incubator for the production of 90 million chicks per year; several limestone distribution units; a Quality Control Laboratory; a Corporate University. The industrialized products are sold throughout the national territory, with 50% destined for export to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The products sent to the foreign market are chicken meat, pork, soybeans in grain, soybean meal and oil, and corn. In total, the company exported 42 million tons last year.
