Founded by Norberto Jaeger in 1946, Companhia Minuano de Alimentos began as a small paper packaging and typography factory. In 1955, it changed its focus and entered the poultry industry. In the 1970s, it became one of the largest poultry meat producers in Brazil and participated in the founding of the Brazilian Association of Chicken Producers and Exporters (Abef), which would become the Brazilian Poultry Union (Ubabef) in 2010. In 1984, Minuano acquired a processed meats factory in Arroio do Meio, supplied with raw materials from integrated producers' chicken slaughterhouses. A decade later, Minuano expanded its portfolio and entered swine farming, purchasing two slaughterhouses and processed meat production facilities in Santa Catarina. The attempt was ultimately unsuccessful, and the factories closed. Since then, the company has preferred to concentrate its business on chickens. Currently, Minuano is a vertically integrated operation in poultry farming, encompassing everything from breeder farms to chicken production and slaughter, ensuring quality at every stage of the process. The industrial complex consists of a processed foods factory, an hatchery, breeder farms, two chicken slaughterhouses, and a feed mill. With its poultry operations focused on providing services to third parties, the company is working to revitalize its brand in the domestic market by focusing its energy on the processed meats production operation, reaffirming the strength of its image and consumer recognition.
