In the heart of the Grand Ouest, 30 minutes from Angers & 1 hour 30 minutes from Nantes, Rennes, or Le Mans, the town of Château-Gontier sur Mayenne, a new municipality of 17,000 inhabitants, is the 2nd largest town in the Mayenne department, at the center of an inter-municipal area composed of 16 towns for over 30,000 inhabitants. Capital of Haut Anjou located on the banks of the Mayenne river, the territory offers: - a privileged living environment, taking the best of urban & rural settings - a rich economic fabric, being the headquarters of national & international ETI (V&B, Réauté, Adx Groupe, Afi centrifuge, Sodistra, Protecthoms, etc.), as well as subsidiaries of large groups (Fromagerie Perrault, Hutchinson, Cargill, Longchamp, etc.) - the Haut Anjou hospital center (emergency services, maternity ward, etc.) - all the services the population can expect (swimming pool, nursery, theater, media library, conservatory of music, dance & visual arts, museum, etc.) - a dynamic local association life, in both sports and culture - a recognized artistic & cultural program with our national stage (performing arts) & contemporary art center of national interest. The administration of the central town & its CCAS (budget of €47M), as well as the Pays de Château-Gontier & its CIAS (budget of €81M), rely on full mutualization of their services (370 permanent agents and 250 non-permanent agents - replacements, seasonal workers, etc.) to implement their territorial project. Our territory also plays a central role in multiple synergies, mutualizations & cooperation with its neighbors in the Pays de Craon and Meslay-Grez. Legally supported by the Pays de Château-Gontier, the south of Mayenne (75,000 inhabitants for 3 EPCIs) is thus working on a common approach to the instruction of urban planning permits (IADS), tourism development (via a Tourist Reception Territory – TAT) or even energy-climate policy (via the GAL).
