Citya is a property management company founded in Tours by Philippe Briand in the early 1990s. Today, the company has 125 agencies in 92 cities across mainland France and overseas territories, serving over half a million clients. Citya manages the value chain for four business lines: co-ownership management (47% of turnover), property management (29% of turnover), rentals (11% of turnover), and sales (10% of turnover). Created in 2000, a wholly-owned subsidiary, SARL Référence, is responsible for the company's and agencies' communication. In 2009, a wholly-owned subsidiary, Saint-Pierre Assurances, specialized in insurance products. With nearly 400,000 co-ownership units and over 100,000 properties under management, Citya is the 3rd largest player in the French property management market after Foncia and Nexity. It is the leading independent company in this sector. The company has built its development around the natural growth of its agencies and through the acquisition of firms, notably: in 2010, with the acquisition of SIT, representing about twenty agencies, and in 2012, with the purchase of 48 agencies from the Urbania group.
