Chancenwerk e.V. is a non-profit organization that promotes fair educational opportunities nationwide at partner schools. The organization supports children and adolescents in their academic and individual development through its learning support programs at partner schools. At the core of our concept is the learning cascade, which is based on the principle of "give and take": We trust young people to support a group of children with their schoolwork. In return, the young people themselves receive free tutoring from students in a subject of their choice. Both the students and the tutors are professionally prepared for their new roles and receive ongoing support. Knowledge and time are exchanged. The system is thus designed to be accessible to all students whose families cannot support them for financial, time, or linguistic reasons. The organization, which has existed since 2004, currently cooperates with over 110 schools in 9 federal states and reaches 4,100 students weekly. Background of the association's founding As siblings of Turkish guest workers, Murat and Şerife Vural founded the association 21 years ago based on their own experiences in the German education system. They repeatedly experienced being potential educational dropouts. Both fought their way from secondary school to university. They founded Chancenwerk to help other students with similarly difficult starting conditions.
